Build a 3D building extrusion map in your browser

No Three.js, no Unreal — just upload a polygon dataset with a height column and toggle 3D.

    What you need

A polygon dataset (GeoJSON or shapefile) where each feature has a numeric height column — meters preferred. Building footprints from OSM work great.

    Upload and enable 3D

In Urban Planning, drop your file, open the Layers panel, and toggle 3D Extrusion. Pick your height column from the dropdown — heights apply directly with no arbitrary scaling.

    Tilt and explore

Hold Ctrl/Cmd and drag to tilt the map. Use the bearing control to rotate. Click any building to see its full attributes.

    Export for stakeholder meetings

Record an animated GIF as the camera orbits, or screenshot specific views. Premium and Pro plans unlock HD GIF export.

    Frequently asked questions

My buildings look flat — why?

Either your height column is non-numeric, or all values are 0/null. Check the source data.

Can I color buildings by use type?

Yes — pick any categorical column for color and the height column for extrusion.

    What zoom level shows 3D?

Buildings render in 3D from zoom 15+. Below that, footprints appear flat for performance.
